UPDATE: Sorry, the water slide might not be happening.

You’re going to want to mark your calendar for this one.

On August 6, a Fairmount Park-area street will be transformed into a massive water slide thanks to Slide the City, which announced it’s bringing its summertime block party tour to Philadelphia. For $10, you can register as early as next week (and you’re going to want to get in on this early) to slip ‘n slide a thousand feet down Sedgley Drive, just west of Fairmount and on the eastern side of the Schuylkill River. You’ll have the Art Museum and Boathouse Row as your backdrop.

Slide the City started in 2014 and its tour last year took massive slides and block parties to 70 cities worldwide. This summer’s tour will feature more than 100 events with music, food, local vendors and street entertainment.

Anyone over 5 years old and 46 inches tall can register for the slide. You can buy a single, triple, ultimate or all day slider pass during a selected wave time — those begin at 9 a.m. the day of the slide — and everyone is encouraged by Slide the City to sign up before June 3, as pricing may go up. While one slide costs $10, an all-day slider pass will run you $99.
